The charm of the Rat personality is as universally known and loved as the Walt Disney character, Mickey Mouse. Remarkably easy to get along with, hard working and thrifty, Michael is generous to those he is inordinately fond of, so if you get an expensive gift from him, you should certainly rate yourself high in his esteem. Michael is never to be found wanting for admirers as he emits such fantastic appeal.
On the surface, Michael may appear to be reserved, but this is not so. He is never as quiet as he may look. Actually, he is easily agitated but is able to maintain his self-control, which explains why he is so popular and has a multitude of friends. Michael is bright, happy and sociable, and on the whole, he enjoys parties and other large gatherings. He can always be found in a close circle of friends. He likes to get involved and is very outgoing when he chooses to be.
Michael really cherishes his friends, associates and family; at times he gets entangled with other people’s lives because he can’t easily rid himself of strong emotional attachments once he has made them. Still, one can never be exactly sure of how and where he stands since his capacity to love can only be overruled by his shrewdness. As a boss, Michael may have demonstrated great concern about whether his employees were getting enough exercise or eating a balanced diet.
In his heart, he sincerely cares about their welfare; he will visit them when they are sick and make their problems his problems. At times Michael is decidedly clannish. Maybe there is some truth about safety in numbers. He never worries about having another mouth to feed and may allow his relatives, in-laws, friends, etc., to stick around his home and live off him. Why? Because he will always be able to find something for them to do to earn their keep.
Laggards, professional bums and freeloaders will all get put to work swiftly in his household. Charity has its limits. Trust Michael. Michael keeps his secrets well but other people tend to tell him their confidences. As much as he likes to keep his feelings to himself, one can always tell when Michael is upset as he tends to become edgy, curt and impertinent. Since Michael is active and most industrious, he is irritated most by idleness and waste.
On his negative side, Michael likes to buy things he does not really need and is always taken in by bargains. Maybe it is his accumulative urge. Mementos, souvenirs and hoards of sentimental stuff can be found tucked away in his home and in his heart. He can also be a busybody at times though his intentions are good. Michael would be an excellent writer and this is not surprising at all. He keeps tabs, has an uncanny eye for detail, a good memory and is incredibly inquisitive.
Michael will be successful in whatever he chooses to do because like his sign, the Rat, he adapts himself to the situation at hand. He has the ability to cope with difficulties and is at his best during a crisis. Levelheaded and alert, he possesses keen intuition, foresight and business acumen. Adversity merely serves to sharpen his wits. Michael’s stumbling block may be trying to do too much too soon and as a result, scattering his energies. Being the true sentimentalist of the Chinese cycle, the Rat is not only deeply attached to his children but to his elders as well. Parents with children born during this hour can be sure that they will be well regarded and cared for by them.
Michael has infinite trust in his parents, caters to their needs and overlooks their shortcomings. Aside from doting on his children, Michael can be found helping out with household chores and likes to spend his holidays and as much times as possible with his family. Michael is a super industrious soul with a natural aptitude for investigating things. He is pure-minded; yet jovial and delightful to be around. He is extremely inquisitive and will explore every option open to him before he makes a move. He is a studious and ingenious soul with limitless capabilities.
Michael has an unmistakable flair for words and hence he could be, and was, a prolific writer of songs. Michael is balanced between being careful and carefree. He does, at times, tend to give his attention to too many different projects without always being very selective and thus this could diminish his accomplishments. Michael is innovative and exciting to have around. Being born during the hour of the Rat, Michael was sweet and loving. He was shy, but inwardly he was fiercely competitive.
As a child, he may have resorted to crying to get more attention and usually clung to one or two people with whom he identified. Although he had a charming disposition, he was possessive of his parents and friends. He probably talked early and he liked to eat (mention of his favorite foods always made him light up) and he could have taken an early interest in food preparation and other household chores. Being affectionate and demonstrative, he did not like being left alone. He enjoyed group play, could concentrate on detailed work and make friends easily.
He could also be depended on to keep things tidy or at least know where they were. Michael learned fast and never missed a trick. With younger children, Michael was tender; but at his worst, he could be bossy. Given the proper encouragement, Michael was ambitious in school and was most eager to participate in anything that stimulated his sharp mental powers. Michael was an avid reader. He learned the importance of the written word early and was able to express himself well. Many of the world’s greatest writers and historians were born under the sign of the Rat.
