Michael is very careful in everything he does, and he puts a high value on neatness. He expects others to live up to those same high standards, and is easily disappointed if they do not. When Michael sees something wrong in someone or something, he doesn’t hesitate to point it out. But he’s had to learn to be considerate when he does this, because criticizing others, even with the best intentions, creates bad feelings.

Michael is very interested in learning as much as possible about the world. In whatever he makes or does, he applies the same standards of perfection that he wants other people to live up to. Michael likes to help others because being useful makes him feel good. He is able to put off what he wants for himself in order to help someone he loves do what he or she wants. Others respect him for this.

Although Michael has a real desire to serve others, his ideals are usually distant and consequently unreachable. A person with his introspective and highly emotional nature needs a stronger person to mold and contain his fluidity of character. To Michael, the abstract, the mystical, and spiritual are more real than any other realities. The location of Mercury also affords some uncertainty of material situations in life. There were many changes of residence due to matters related to business. Forming close relationships with people his own age was not easy for Michael. The relationship that is most affected by this placement is marriage. The close relationships Michael encountered when he was young, taught him much that he needed to know about getting along.

Often the people who are close to Michael seem to demand too much or don't permit him to simply be himself. If Michael had felt that people were being too critical of him, he would have been wise to re-examine his friendships. Michael’s beliefs may not be all that different from others', but he liked to challenge their opinions. At worst, Michael’s mind could be undisciplined, because he didn’t concentrate on any one subject for very long. Also he was likely to get bored more quickly than most people. At his best, Michael grasped complicated principles quickly and was always open to new experiences. It was very unlikely that he ever became set in his ways, mentally at least. Michael’s relations with his brothers and sisters were very changeable.
